As many of you know, I also work as a professor at various colleges. There is nothing more annoying than going to work to teach a room full of students who are coughing, sneezing and hacking all over the place. So, how do I keep from getting sick amidst the germ filled classrooms?
Oregano Oil and/or Oregano Juice, I take 2 Tablespoons of Oregano Juice daily. Or you can also take oregano oil drops underneath the tongue but that is pretty harsh. If you choose this method, follow it up with water immediately. There are also oregano oil capsules which work as well.
Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), I take 5 capfuls of ACV daily, more if I am around someone who is sick, which is almost daily in my profession. I mix the ACV with a few ounces of my favorite juice and drink the mixture with a straw. I do this so the ACV will not ruin the enamel on my teeth. I then follow up by rinsing my mouth with water to remove excess acidity.
Ginger Tea, you can find the recipe below. A mixture of ginger, lemon, and honey will soothe a sore throat and kill germs. You can find the recipe here: http://tamarastjohn.com/get-rid-of-your-cold-or-flu-with-ginger-tea/
Traditional Medicinals makes a great tea called “Throat Coat” which contains slippery elm and licorice, this tea is great to use for soothing the throat especially if you are speaking in public.
I will also load up on the vitamin C and eat extra oranges or take 1,000 mg of vitamin C whenever I feel sickness coming on.
Another great remedy is homemade Chicken or Turkey Soup; you can find the recipe here for my homemade Turkey soup. Feel free to replace the turkey with chicken if it suits you. http://tamarastjohn.com/healing-your-body-with-turkey-soup/
Using any or all of the above remedies daily can help you to stave off colds and flu. It can also help you to get well quicker if you are sick.
